DR. TODD’S RECOVERY LAB

Practical workshops for changing the patterns that keep you stuck — and building healthier ways of relating to yourself, other people, and your life.

Recovery is about more than understanding what happened to you. It is about changing the way you relate to yourself, the people around you, and the life you are trying to create.

Dr. Todd’s Recovery Lab is a small-group weekend intensive designed to help you recognize the emotional wounds and relational patterns that continue to shape your choices, relationships, and sense of self — and begin developing a healthier way forward.

Over four three-hour sessions, we will explore the patterns that keep us stuck, the five emotional needs that shape our self-concept, and the relational positions we learn to occupy in response to our experiences. We will then turn that understanding into practical change through communication, boundaries, healthier relationships, and a personal plan of action.

The weekend concludes with an opportunity to integrate what you have learned, hear the experiences of others, share what has worked, and identify the practices that can help sustain change after the workshop ends.

Recovery Lab is not simply about healing from the past. It is about learning how to live differently in the present so that a different sense of self — and a different kind of life — can develop.

Each Recovery Lab Weekend Intensive is held virtually and is limited to 20 participants to allow for meaningful discussion, interaction, and personal participation.

The Weekend Experience

MODULE 1  – Understanding What Keeps Us Stuck

Friday Afternoon – 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

We begin by identifying the wounds, beliefs, and relational patterns that continue to shape how we see ourselves and respond to the world around us. The goal is to understand not just where these patterns came from, but how they continue to keep us struggling in the present.

MODULE 2  – The Five Needs and Relational Positioning

Saturday Morning – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

This session explores the five emotional needs that shape our self-concept: identity, safety, connection, value, and agency. We will look at how the positions we occupy in relationships influence whether those needs are met or undermined, and how changing those positions can begin to change the way we experience ourselves.

MODULE 3  – Communication, Boundaries, and a Plan for Change

Saturday Afternoon – 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Insight becomes meaningful when it changes the way we live. We will focus on practical communication skills, healthier boundaries, and the specific relational changes that can support a stronger sense of self, then develop a personal plan for putting those changes into action.

MODULE 4  – Integration, Shared Experience, and Moving Forward

Sunday Morning – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

The final session is designed to help integrate what we have learned through personal reflection, shared stories, and discussion of what has worked for others. We will identify practical strategies for sustaining progress and creating the relationships and daily experiences that support continued growth.

Please note: the Recovery Lab is an educational/personal-development workshop rather than psychotherapy or group therapy. It is not intended to replace professional psychological care.
